Coach Andy Stephens
Varsity Head Coach
Coach Stephens is a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic H.S. He was an all conference player and part of the 1992 District Championship team. In his freshman year in college, Coach Stephens attended Elizabethtown College and participated in the NCAA tournament (1993). The following year he transferred to DeSales University where he scored 1231 points in three years and participated in the NCAA Tournament (1996). Coach Stephens was selected an All-Conference player in 1996.
Coach Stephens is a graduate of DeSales University with a degree in Education and Criminal Justice. He is currently a History Teacher at Parkland High School. Previously he taught three years at Allentown Central Catholic High School and one year at Freedom High School.
Coach Stephens is entering his eleventh season as the head coach for the Trojans. In his ten years the Trojans have competed in seven District XI Championship games capturing the gold in 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, & 2016. During the 2008-2009 season the Trojans reached the quarterfinals of the state tournament finishing with a record of 26-4. In 2015-16 season the team went 26-3 before falling to the eventual state champion in the quarter final round. This past season (2017-2018) the Trojans went 12-12 and reached the District quarter final round. Prior to being named the Head Coach at Parkland he was the head coach at Emmaus High School. In his four years there, Emmaus won a League Championship (2007) and made the District XI Championship game twice. Prior to his arrival at Emmaus he was an assistant at Central Catholic, Freedom, and an assistant at Parkland for former coach Rich Fatzinger for four years. Coach Stephens and his wife Leigh reside in Allentown. They are the proud parents of three daughters; Rowan, and their twins Erynn and Blair. Coach is the son of Chris and Cathy Stephens, has two older brothers and a younger sister.
Coach Eddie Ohlson
Coach Ohlson is a 2004 graduate of Parkland High School. He was a 4-year starter, was part of 2 District Championships (2001,2003), and an Eastern State Championship in 2004. He was voted Morning Call Athlete of the Year in 2004 and was selected All-Conference/All-Area in 2003 and 2004.
Coach Ohlson graduated from DeSales University with a degree in Business Management. He holds the DeSales record for most assists in a game (15), seas (227), and career (694). He let the team in steals and assists from 2006 through 2008. He was voted All-Conference in 2008.
He enters his eleventh year as an assistant coach at Parkland High School. Previously, he was an assistant Varsity coach for Northampton High School.
Coach Ohlson is employed by the Lehigh Carbon Intermediate Unit as a Behavior Support Specialist at the Allentown Center Learning and Adjustment School.
Coach Austin Beidelman
Junior Varsity Coach
Coach Beidelman is a 2013 graduate of Parkland High School. He played basketball under Coach Stephens and son a District XI Championship his senior year. He continued his athletic career at Kutztown University where he graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. Coach Beidelman has coached various youth and AAU teams over the past several years. He is currently a fourth grade teacher at Cetronia Elementary School.
Coach BJ Dugan
Coach Dugan is not new to Parkland Basketball ! He coached four years for the Parkland Girls Freshman basketball team. In addition, he spent ten years coaching men's basketball at Moravian College and five years of Varsity Boy's Basketball at Northwestern Lehigh. He and his wife Deanna have two daughters, Reese and Brynn. This is his 24th year teaching Social Studies at Parkland.
Coach Steve Quinn
Steve Quinn is beginning his second year in the Parkland program. He is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University. Steve graduated from Palmerton High School where he was a part of the District Championship basketball team. Steve then played basketball at Mansfield University. He is currently in his 29th year of teaching within the Parkland District. Steve is a proud father of his four children Alexandria, Mark, Nicholas, and Michael Quinn.
Coach Scott Bauer
Orefield Middle School Coach
Coach Bauer attended Whitehall High School. He attended Penn State University for his Undergraduate Studies and Kutztown University for his Masters.
Scott has been coaching basketball at Parkland for 19 years. He and his wife, Megan, have 4 kids - Madison, Macy, Scottie, and Makenna.
His mentor is Parkland basketball coach, Paul Stewart, and his favorite coaches are Bobby Knight and Mike Krzyzewski.
